Gray Hughes is a multi-award winning photographer and director.


His photographs have been commissioned by The Sunday Times Magazine, The Times and Men’s Health amongst many others and his work has exhibited at The National Portrait Gallery, London. Hughes was awarded several Honourable Mentions at the International Photography Awards and was a Finalist with his ‘Heartland’ rugby project at the Association of Photographers Awards.


Hughes’ photography and film work was noticed at Ridley Scott Associates, which he joined in 2016. Since that time, Hughes has worked on global print campaigns for Vodafone, BP, Standard Life and Rexona and promotional films for Reebok, Google, Guinness and Standard Life.He has also directed three short films.


In 2020, his short film ‘You Say Nothing’ won Best Short Film at the Berlin Lift-Off film festival and was selected for Tokyo, New York and Manchester Lift-Offs as well as making it into the Best Of The Year Festival in January 2021.


Hughes is currently developing documentary projects – one which is dedicated to mental health, a subject close to his heart.


“As a photojournalist I witnessed the consequences of war, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, train wrecks and economic crashes. I’ve seen the worst and best of man, it continually inspires me to create photography and films which are genuine and believable.”
